We get this question a lot.
“What can I do with my visuals after my engagement?“
This, or another variation of this question is asked to us quite frequently on sales calls at ImageThink. We get it – graphic recording and graphic facilitation is a large investment for any meeting or event.
You see the value of having a visual strategist in the room to capture ideas. Wanting to extend that value beyond the engagement – or in other words, get your money’s worth – is only sensible. Especially if your engagement wraps with multiple analog or digital boards. With that being said, this blog is dedicated to walking you through some ways you can leverage your visuals after your engagement concludes.
Engagement’s over. What now?
Depending on the service received, our end product results in either physical boards, digital boards, or both. While uses vary, below, we’re providing 5 main ways to leverage your visuals post-engagement.
1. Hang it
In many instances, our clients hang or print and frame the digital or physical boards in their homes, offices, meeting rooms, or front lobbies as a visual reminder and reinforcer.
The work we produce for clients can often reflect their goals, initiatives, projects, culture, or history (to name a few). Seeing a visual representation of these items can be both motivating and inspiring for employees.
2. Send it
ImageThink’s finalized boards work for you as a “follow up” item for meeting or event attendees. Whether you send a physical print in the mail, or a digital copy of our work via email, participants love receiving work they personally co-created, or experienced. It boosts response rates, receptiveness, and relationship building for our clients.
3. Gift it
Many of our clients gift our work to parties involved in events or meetings. Speakers or panels we’ve supported find ImageThink boards to be a thoughtful, but functional gift. In fact, they use them to promote their thought leadership and ideas on their personal social accounts and websites, as our work summarizes their key talking points in a way that is concise and engaging.
4. Share it
And speaking of social…ImageThink’s work doubles as marketing collateral that can be shared and amplified via social media, company websites, and newsletters to extend your reach. Not only do they make great promotional pieces to share during a meeting or event to reach individuals not in attendance, but they also expand engagement beyond. After an event concludes, our clients share ImageThink boards to maintain the excitement and conversation surrounding the event or meeting, to promote their engagement annually, or as a supporting piece for the expansion of ideas.
5. Act on it
Most importantly, you can leverage your visuals as a working roadmap for projects, initiatives, and plans. ImageThink’s work is a visual document of ideas that our clients use in their work. Final visuals often clarify next steps, refine ideas and messages, determine ownership of action items, and confirm the direction in which a team or organization is headed.
Sometimes, what you don’t see is what you get
If we’re being frank, the above reasons aren’t why our clients partner with us. The real magic – and what our clients buy into – are the things that happen as a result of, and while thinking and working visually.
When you incorporate visuals into your work, individuals have a larger capacity to absorb the information that they hear, see, and experience. Visuals communicate ideas faster, and more effectively than any other medium, resulting in greater retention and understanding.
On the same note, visuals have the ability to improve the way teams communicate. With visuals, messages, ideas, action items, and strategic plans are clarified, so those involved leave aligned and reading from the same book. More importantly, from the same page.
Finally, visual work unlocks powerful, collaborative thinking that creates greater energy and alignment among teams and within organizations. Teams that we partner with end their meetings feeling accomplished, aligned, and galvanized in their mission.
A picture may be worth a thousand words and may have a dozen different uses. What you can create as a result of that picture, is priceless. Drop us a line at info@imagethink.net or give us a call today to see what you can achieve by working visually.
