Global Initiative’s Complex Message, Condensed

At an important anniversary and growth inflection point, the Global Initiative Against Transnational Organized Crime needed a way to communicate the pillars of its 3-year strategy for growing its network, organization, and resources to fight global organized crime.

Beyond condensing a broad strategy down to a one-minute video, Global Initiative needed to consider an audience from around the world, and wanted to be sure that the images and iconography chosen would appropriately communicate success, without diminishing the need for continued support. Additionally, the video needed to tell the story of the organization’s roots, mandate, and growth in its first five years. No small task.

After a series of conversations with leadership at Global Initiative, ImageThink was able to develop a script for the one-minute video that was able to cover this range of needs, while not being so broad as to be meaningless to viewers.

Collaboration + Iteration = Polished Perfection

A thorough and iterative process, our team worked through several versions of each slide, which would later be animated into a time-lapse video. The close collaboration, and wide range of visual iconography, allowed Global Initiative to consider all of their various stakeholders all over the world.

ImageThink’s nimble and collaborative process allowed Global Initiative to carefully consider all interpretations of the message, balancing their tremendous growth and impact with their need for more support, resources, and to further expand their network.

With over 1,500 views between Facebook and YouTube, and having been featured on the Global Initiative’s blog, the video has served as a powerful tool for communicating Global Initiative’s plan. It has also acted as a way to communicate both its historical success and impact and has served as a recruitment tool for both supporters and talent to continue the fight against organized crime.
